Since I was a child, I have been visiting the Hayasuihime-Jinja shrine. I used to think that it was normal to visit the shrine in front of the main shrine and then walk clockwise round the shrine. However, as I grew older I realised that such a custom was not common elsewhere.

Located in the countryside, the shrine of the Hayasuihime-Jinja shrine does not look very big when you look at the entrance. However, the precincts are much larger than you would expect. It is therefore advisable to allow plenty of time to walk to the shrine.
