The other day, I went to see the cherry blossoms at Hayasuhime Shrine in Saganoseki Oita city. This shrine is famous for praying not to eat octopus until the wish is fulfilled.
As I always think, the guardian dog’s bibs of this shrine is fashionable!
And this time it was a pattern like symbol the Saganoseki.
Saganoseki sea bream has been a famous and special product since the Edo period, as in the song “Seki no Taitsuri Uta”.
“Seki Aji Seki Saba” is a brand fish that has become famous since the Showa period, and many of you may know it.
You can see the bibs of the fish pattern that represents Saganoseki in the Reiwa era.
At this shrine, the Wisteria Festival is called “Fuji Matsuri ” is held on May 3rd every year to admire the wisteria flowers. A tea ceremony seat will be set up under the wisteria trellis. If you want to have experience of Japanese countryside culture, I highly recommend you to go to this place.
