The movie of the Mongolian Horse Racing

Second year Japanese primary schools students may learn Mongolian folklore in their Japanese classes during February and March. The title of the story is “Suho’s White Horse”. (Some schools do not teach this story.)
The story is about the bond between the main character, Suho, and his white horse. The story tells us about horse racing in Mongolia and about the horse-headed fiddle. This is the time when second graders learn long stories in Japanese for the first time.

I have lived in Mongolia, I have my taken videos about Mongolian horse racing and playing the horse-headed fiddle. So I used to be invited to talk about Mongolia at some Japanese schools. Many people do not believe that horse racing in Mongolia is something that children take part in. So I used them on that talking at there.

Recently, COVID19 has spread all over the world, school teachers worried about COVID19 spreading, they don’t invite me my talking about Mongolia.
So I put up on YouTube a video I took a video when I was in Mongolia of children riding horses over 20km across the steppe at Naadam, the Mongolian national festival. I thought it would give children a better understanding of that Mongolian folklore story. Nowadays, many primary schools are using ICT in their classes, so I thought it would be useful to upload the video on Youtube. Some teacher might use this movie in the Japanese lessons.
