Kimono wearing

When I wear a kimono, I am often conscious of the season. In Japan, among kimono lovers, it is considered fashionable to wear a kimono ahead of the season.
In the online magazine “Monthly Iwa to Kimono”, updated on 18 January 2022, I wore a chocolate-coloured kimono because it was before Valentine’s Day. I chose a sack Obi belt with a boat pattern for that kimono.
The obi has a pattern of a sailing ship floating on the mint-coloured waves of the sea.
Inukai Port Site, the setting for the cover of this online magazine, is the remains of a river port built in the Edo period in the middle of the Ono River in Bungo-Ono City, Oita Prefecture.
I chose an obi with a boat pattern to evoke the port.
