Kimono with chrysanthemum flower design

In Japan, chrysanthemums bloom from autumn to winter. Chrysanthemum flowers are often used as a kimono pattern.

This is because the chrysanthemum flower design has long been used as a congratulatory pattern with the wish of immortality and longevity.

Manjugiku, one of the simplified designs of chrysanthemum flowers in a round shape, is often used as a kimono pattern because its sound is the same as “Manju”, which means celebrating a long life. It is also called Manjyugiku because its round shape resembles a bun. It is one of the popular kimono patterns because of its cuteness.
